GOAL: Japan plaatst zich voor WK, zware blunder van Ryan
Japan heeft zich verzekerd van deelname aan het WK. Het mag daarvoor Kaoru Mitoma bedanken. De invaller scoorde twee keer, al kreeg hij wel hulp van Mathew Ryan.
Japan, met ook Junya Ito (KRC Genk) in de basis, is nu mathematisch zeker van een WK-ticket. Australië zal het hoogstwaarschijnlijk via de barrages moeten doen.
